Pastor Terry has been married to his soul mate First Lady Elwina Terry for 31years and they are the proud parents of 5 children. Pastor Terry has served as the Pastor of Greater New Birth Baptist Church for the last 31 years and he continues to lead us in the direction that God shows. Charles R. Terry Sr.

Senior Pastor

Pastor Charles Ray Terry Sr. was born July 12, 1948 in Rockdale, TX. He is the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. J.D. Terry Sr. He attended Rockdale ISD Elementary school, Middle School, and graduated from Rockdale High School. He then attended Bishop College in 1966 and in 1969 he was drafted to the United States Army. On March 1, 1978, God saw fit that he preached his first sermon, he was ordained and licensed on June 7, 1978 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Plano, TX with Rev. C.S. Trimble presiding. Greater New Birth Baptist Church was then organized on June 1, 1978 with only 12 members.
